The Goombay Festival is back! From September 5–7, 2025, join us in the heart of Asheville for the return of this beloved Afro-Diasporic celebration—a powerful, joyful tribute to the rhythms, resilience, and richness of Black culture.
Now over 40 years strong, Goombay is one of Asheville’s longest-running Black cultural festivals, gathering generations of artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, and community members. This year, as we restore this legacy event, we invite you to be part of something meaningful.
Your donation directly supports:
- Live musical performances and artist fees
- Production needs like stages, sound, and lighting
- Cultural and arts programming beyond the festival, hosted year-round by the YMI Cultural Center

Ross Farm and Appalachian Standard are proud to present the 3rd Annual Fall Fest on Saturday, September 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This highly anticipated event
showcases the farm’s stunning greenhouses filled with a spectacular variety of fall plants for every gardening enthusiast, including mums and pumpkins. We also have a wonderful selection of indoor and specialty plants!The festival features much more than just plants:
Delicious food options, including baked goods
A vibrant market featuring artisan brooms, home goods, and permanent jewelry
Kid-friendly activities including a scavenger hunt, games, and potting station
…and much more!
Appalachian Standard will also have their quality CBD products available for purchase. With attendance typically reaching 300-600 visitors, carpooling is strongly encouraged to help with parking availability.

Now back and better than ever, it’s Villain Arts’ Sixth Annual Asheville Tattoo Arts Festival!! Come to Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville for 3 exciting days offering live entertainment, unique vendors, and most importantly: nonstop tattooing. This event pulls artists from across the country (and a few from around the world) and unites them together in the spirit of self-expression and individuality. Retreat leader, educator and Jungian psychotherapist Diana McKendree leads a discussion exploring the world of dreamwork and how we might better understand our dreams. Part of Kanuga’s Lunch & Learn series. The Thursday, September 18 event begins with a forest bathing nature walk (weather permitting) at 10 a.m. McKendree’s “What Did You Dream Last Night?” discussion begins at 11 a.m., followed by a buffet lunch in Kanuga’s dining hall. Sun Day Asheville, part of a global day of action on September 21, 2025, celebrates the rise of clean energy and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind. We’ll come together to have fun and showcase the power of the sun – the energy source that can power our world without pollution or profiteering!
Clean energy is here: it’s more affordable, healthier, and fairer than the fuels of the past.

What to Expect at Sun Day Asheville 2025 – September 21st
Families and kids will be making signs and decorating their bikes to participate in a march and bike ride to advocate for solar and clean energy. Sign in at the Marching Booth for the parade near the Stage.

Celebrations of Clean Energy:
Participants will create art, rally, sing, and call for climate action to ensure a healthier future.
The free, family friendly event will feature solar installations, Sugar Hollow Solar’s Power House with free sun powered snow cones, a fleet of electric vehicles, Earthshine Nature Programs’ solar powered education POD, booths about saving energy and more. Also, concerts, and educational activities to show the benefits of renewable energy for a healthier planet.
Focus on the Future:
The day is about harnessing the power of the sun to create a cleaner future for children and future generations. Kids will enjoy the parade, the music, and of course the solar oven s’mores and sun powered snow cones – all free!
We will make it known – the era of fossil fuels is ending, and a just, renewable future is within reach!
