Monthly Visitor is a new class series by Period Nirvana. Every month, we will host a speaker to teach a class or lead a workshop in their area of expertise. We’ll be kicking off the series with a basic course on pelvic floor anatomy, common issues such as stress/urge incontinence, and pelvic pain. The class will be about an hour long with the opportunity to shop for menstrual care and wellness products afterwards. Get to know the speaker, Dr. Rachael Paszko!

“My journey as a physical therapist has developed greatly through the years. After graduating from Wheeling University in 2016, I spent time working in Virginia and West Virginia before falling in love with Asheville, North Carolina. I completed an orthopedic residency program in orthopedics in 2020 and became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). Since that time, I have also found my passion for treating individuals experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction. It quickly became clear to me that symptoms of urinary and fecal incontinence, frequency/urgency, pelvic pain, pain with sexual activity are under-reported and under-treated. I love empowering individuals to reclaim their confidence and help lift the feelings of isolation associated with it! I have completed extensive training to treat the pelvic health population through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, earning the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification, and Institute of Clinical Excellence.

Join us for an exciting family-friendly 5K event in the heart of beautiful downtown Asheville! Our scenic route begins and ends at Pack Square, the vibrant center of the city, taking participants through the charming streets of downtown.
This is truly a community event designed for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking for a fun local race or a family wanting to enjoy some active time together for the holiday, this event is perfect for you. We’re excited to be partnering with Food Connection as our nonprofit partner for the 3rd year in a row.
We encourage bringing your family and friends to make it a memorable group experience. Register four or more people at the same time and receive a 15% discount. Strollers and dogs are welcome but are asked to start at the back of the pack. Walkers are welcome but we ask that you plan on finishing within an hour and 15 minutes. The race is capped at 500 runners.

This free festival promises fun for the whole family, featuring the incredible Amazing Air Dogs and a host of other family-friendly activities throughout the day.

It’s time to pledge allegiance to the glam at Blue Ridge Drag Bingo – Asheville’s most star-spangled way to give back! The first ball drops at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4th at the Hilltop Event Center. Tickets start at $20, include bingo cards, and are available at https://BeardedLadyProductions.org. This event is for ages 21 and up.

This month, Blue Ridge Bingo salutes sparkle and serves up sass with a Red, White, and Blue bash designed to unleash everyone’s inner patriot. Guests can expect six rounds of firework-worthy bingo, fabulous prizes, and tunes hotter than a midsummer night’s sequin. Leading this affair is the one and only Divine, the Bearded Lady – a hostess with unmatched flair and star-spangled sparkle. Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress in their boldest red, whitest whites, and bravest blues.

Proceeds from this month’s Bingo will go to OurVOICE, whose mission is to inspire hope and healing while ending sexual violence and human trafficking in the community through education, counseling, and advocacy. They provide support for survivors of sexual violence ages 13+ in Buncombe County, as well as survivors of human trafficking ages 13+ in Buncombe, McDowell, and Transylvania Counties. We will begin with a brief overview of the current astrology aspects in our sky. Then enjoy a powerful yet relaxing 45 min. gong meditation followed by an integration.

When the gong sings, you listen. You listen listens with every cell of your body. You hear it and feel it. You begin to sense more. The obscure sounds leave your brain guessing and eventually surrenders to the soundwave as you begin to relax, feel and heal. The vibrational frequencies can awaken stagnant energy. Celebrate the Full Moon by immersing yourself with the healing vibrations of a Sound Bath! The full moon offers a boost in healing to our energy field.

Join your host Kristin Hillegas, for a one-hour Serenity Sound Bath and experience a deeply immersive, full-body sound and vibrational experience. A sound bath can cleanse your soul, restore your balance, surround you with peace and tranquility and stimulate healing.

Note: Please bring a yoga mat/pillow/blanket since you will be lying on the floor. Wear warm, comfortable, and flexible clothing.

“Laron Huntley & The Gravely Brothers,” is a multi-generational band rooted in Asheville, NC with a sound steeped in classic country and southern rock. With deep local ties and a shared musical heritage, this group brings the authentic spirit of the mountains to every performance. Their show promises passion, talent, and timeless Americana vibes from heartfelt originals to crowd-pleasing covers and jam-worthy riffs.

During our time we will explore vocal exercises and sounds to activate your light language. The vocal exercises are great for clearing and moving energy throughout your body, while easing your nervous system. This creates space to allow more energetic flow through your whole being.

Following this interactive session, you then will lay down and receive sound and energy healing to integrate your process. We all have the ability to access light language and if you have been called or intrigued, please reach out!
