We will be as close to as directly across the parking lot as we can, near the water, with the tent (go past the bathrooms and head to the water). So, you should be able to find us pretty easily if it’s your first time).
We’ll enjoy meditations/visualizations, psychic ability empowerment, chakra activations, and lively discussions about how we can participate in the evolution of the new earth… a world where truth and the ethos of love (e.g.: Law of One) are the guiding forces.
All who are interested in spiritual growth and evolution and getting to know others who are “on their wavelength” are welcome.

R.Carlos Nakai, of Navajo-Ute heritage, the world’s premier performer of the Native American flute, joins pianist/composer Peter Kater for two evening performances, possibly their last live performance together. Piano and Native American Flute, however an unlikely combination of instruments, when performed by two of the worlds most sensitive performers of those instruments, produces a powerful and profound musical chemistry, of an almost spiritual nature, and unlike any two instruments ever played together! Their music has been described to be of a sacred quality. Kater with two recent Grammy wins for best New Age album, produces a sound on piano often described as hypnotic and healing. Nakai approaches each performance in a ceremonial manner, singing ancient Navajo chants while playing his flutes and blowing his Eagle Bone whistle. “Every concert they have played together in Asheville, leaves audiences in absolute awe. The chemistry of these two musicians and their instruments does something to us all that is impossible to describe in words”. As the holiday season starts with Thanksgiving leading the way, many of us count our blessings for all that we have. During this season of gratitude and giving, we may also consider others who are less resourced. Perhaps we volunteer to serve Thanksgiving turkey at a shelter or take a child’s name from an angel tree to provide holiday gifts.
This forum will expand our minds to consider the 365-days a year reality of racial and economic injustices and inequities. We will be inspired by the soulful lyrics of Kyshona Armstrong and then hear the stories of some of our neighbors navigating our housing, financial and criminal justice systems. These stories will challenge our beliefs about why so many people are financially insecure and inspire us to seek solutions.
Village Engage’s Faith & Justice Forum: Economic Liberation for All is a daylong event designed to inform and connect us with inspired solutions and people working to build a community where everyone can thrive. The symposium includes live entertainment, panel discussions and a networking lunch.

Ever wondered what it’s like to drive a racecar? Buncombe County Public Libraries has added The Track at Asheville as a new ZOOM partner. Each ZOOM pass will give up to four drivers 30 minutes of hot laps in a standard rig (race simulator) at The Track. Utilizing state-of-the-art hardware and software, you can choose your car, track, and conditions to experience the thrill of driving racecars around simulated tracks all over the world. No experience is necessary.
ZOOM passes at The Track require two things:
- You need to book a ZOOM pass on the Library’s website.
- You will also need to visit The Track’s website and use the reservation code provided to reserve your seat.
You are responsible for booking your timed reservation and you will need to bring your ZOOM pass to The Track to use your reservation. You can only drive if you have a ZOOM pass and a reservation. ZOOM passes for The Track are for ages 8 and up.

Applications are open, and the deadline for submission is December 15, 2023. The WNC Center for Craft Artist in Residency program is trailblazing a new source of support for Western North Carolina (WNC) artists.
Grant Overview:
- Selected artists will receive a $10,000 honorarium, a testament to supporting the cultural sector in WNC.
- In addition, a $2,000 materials stipend will be provided to help artists realize their creative visions.
For a period of 8 weeks, artists will have exclusive access to dedicated studio space at the Center for Craft, conveniently located in the vibrant heart of downtown Asheville, NC.
The two selected artists will work alongside two Virginia A. Groot Material Exploration Residents in a cohort of four artists. This opportunity allows for each resident to have their own studio space and the time to work independently and to also build relationships with the other residents and participate in engagement with the Western North Carolina region through studio visits with curators, museums, and collectors and explore other regional craft schools.
This unique opportunity will empower artists to flourish in an environment designed to nurture their craft. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this groundbreaking initiative that’s redefining support for craft in the region.
