ASAP (Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project) has released a survey to learn more about how people in Western North Carolina shop for food and why they choose the food they do. The survey, part of a three-year project by ASAPโs Local Food Research Center, is for any resident of Western North Carolina over the age of 18, no matter where or how they shop for food. Join your host Kristin Hillegas, for a one-hour Serenity Sound Bath and experience a deeply immersive, full-body sound and vibrational experience. A sound bath can cleanse your soul, restore your balance, surround you with peace and tranquility and stimulate healing.
Note: Please bring a yoga mat/pillow/blanket since you will be lying on the floor. Wear warm, comfortable, and flexible clothing.
The Sound Bath will take place upstairs in the Education Building. Choose your space starting at 1:00 PM, doors close promptly at 1:15 PM.
This service is being offered on a Love Offering basis.(Suggested Value $25) Donations allow us to continue to provide these immersive experiences.
Accessible parking is available in the Center for Spiritual Living Asheville upper parking lot. The entrance to the upper parking lot is off of S. Bear Creek Rd between Science of Mind Way and Sand Hill Rd.

Happy Body is offering a donation-based Block Therapy for Trauma Class on Saturday, November 2nd from 1-3pm at 25 Reed St Suite 210. You must register to attend as space is limited. Pay what you can.
This block therapy class will be focusing on the whole body to move stuck energy from pain and trauma. This is a slow and relaxed class focusing on connecting to full conscious breath to open areas where emotions are stored in the fascia. Pain, fear, and stress cause us to hold our breath as a protective mechanism to shield ourselves. When breath becomes paralyzed from trauma pain and stress, there is no movement of that energy out of the body. In this class, we will be releasing past/current patterns of breathing, created by trauma, pain, and stress. Our breath is directly connected to our nervous system, so this practice relaxes the nervous system so the body can get out of flight and flight or freeze and into rest, digest, and heal.

The artists of the Kenilworth Artists Association have rescheduled their Fall Open Studio Tour & Sale for the weekend of Nov. 30-Dec. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
โWeโve taken a tumble with Hurricane Helene arriving a week prior to our originally scheduled event, but we have dusted ourselves off, taken stock of our good fortune and hope to welcome our neighbors, our friends, and our community into our studios,โ said Angela Maddix, a long-time participating artist.
The Kenilworth neighborhood, located south of downtown Asheville near Biltmore Village, is the setting for the tour. The inspiring work of artists who create their art in the midst of this historic neighborhood they call home will be available for purchase.
This yearโs participating artists will showcase a wide range of media: works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, gouache, encaustic, jewelry, pottery, ceramics, glass, fiber, woodcraft, mixed-media, illustration, photography, paper and collage. Visitors will find unique local, hand-made art for holiday gift-giving, and special occasions. The tour is free, and is self-guided.
Each artist will donate a portion of sales to Loving Food Resources, a pantry serving western North Carolina hospice and HIV/AIDS clients.

Admission is free and this is a fun family friendly event. Food and drink are available daily.
Thereโs something for everyone, from seasoned rockhounds to new collectors and jewelry lovers. You can visit over 35 locally and nationally known vendors. Our vendors enjoy sharing their expert knowledge and have top quality treasures that make great gifts.

Join us for Under the Stars 2024, a fundraiser for AMOS and the communities in our orbit.
The Asheville Museum of Science invites you to join us for a night at the museum on December 6th, 2024 from 6:30pm โ 9:30pm with a VIP reception from 5:30pm โ 6:30pm. This yearโs Under the Stars fundraiser, rescheduled from October, will include an expanded purpose, with proceeds supporting both our programs and critical community needs. We look forward to hosting you at the museum for a night of coming together and imagining how we can transform this space together.
