FEATURING COUCH, MEMBERS OF THE STEEP CANYON RANGERS & AUNT VICKI – To Benefit Longterm Regional Resiliency
In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Footprint Project, Land of Sky Regional Council of Governments and many other local partners stepped in to deploy solar and battery storage microgrid systems with a focus on restoring power, telecommunications, and clean drinking water to communities across Western North Carolina. In the months since this storm devastated the region, these partners continue to deploy clean energy solutions with more than 60 operational battery and solar projects on the ground serving North Carolinians. As part of plans for long-term regional resiliency, these partner organizations are working with local, state, and federal entities to deploy more clean energy solutions to serve the community in these next phases of recovery and to prepare for future storms. Join us for an evening of music at Sierra Nevada’s Mill River taproom to enjoy local artists and support regional recovery through clean energy solutions. Proceeds from this event to benefit Footprint Project and Land of Sky Regional Council of Governments and their efforts to serve Western North Carolina.
The event will also feature short remarks from local leaders and recovery organizations about efforts made to date and future recovery needs that can be supported through clean energy solutions. AMPlify Appalachia will also kick off a recovery summit in the Asheville area hosted by Footprint Project and Land of Sky Regional Council.

Explore Asheville’s Always Asheville Fund, which supports local businesses through grants, and Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity, which provides housing support for those in need following the storm, have been named as the official charities of the Bal Harbour Access Pop-up.
Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up in Asheville will feature a host of curated retailers, including Tiffany & Co., Valentino, Balmain, Assouline, Etro, Golden Goose, Eleventy, Johanna Ortiz, and more. Guests can enjoy the Pop-up’s on-site full bar and restaurant, The Whitman, an exquisite dining venue that seats 150 guests. With daily indoor and outdoor dining opportunities, The Whitman will offer shareable plates that mix Miami flavor with locally sourced products.
Bal Harbour Shops Access Pop-up is a fully custom-created retail experience. Designed from modular shipping containers transformed into a lush, tropical oasis, it embodies the signature aesthetic of Bal Harbour Shops. Guests will be transported into a Zen garden-like environment, complete with palm trees, fountains, and lush greenery, all set to a curated soundtrack that enhances the ambiance. Covered walkways with cooling fans and a retractable canopy will ensure an inviting and comfortable experience.

We are so excited to have local vegan vendors get together and show you what they’ve got. You can stop by and get some treats to go or, even better, hang out with us for a while. Join us on October 3, 2025, 6:00-8:30 pm, for an unforgettable outdoor experience on Tryon Arts & Crafts School’s (TACS) west campus, commemorating the anniversary of Hurricane Helene with a celebration of Appalachian tradition. Ticket sales to TACS’ Hearth & Anvil fundraiser will support the school, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, allowing us to continue providing opportunities such as the Helene Relief Artist in Residency Program. While fortunate compared to some, TACS and neighboring Harmon Field were significantly impacted by the storm with property damage, temporary closure, and cancellation of key events and programs. Hearth & Anvil is an opportunity to reflect on the past year and support the school, while enjoying traditional open-flame cooking and interactive art demonstrations alongside our new Terra Flora sculpture. The sculpture was constructed using natural and found materials from the aftermath of the hurricane.

Asheville locals look forward to the annual Scouting America Scout Troop 17 barbecue dinner fundraiser. The event, set for Saturday, October 11, 2025, offers tender, juicy Western North Carolina smoked BBQ dinners with all the fixin’s. Take out dinners will be served behind the Riceville Fire Department and Community Center, 2251 Riceville Road, Asheville, NC, 11:00AM – 4:00PM or while supplies last. Outside Creekside picnic tables are available for dining.
Pitmasters smoke premium North Carolina pork shoulders throughout the night prior to the event. Dinners include a generous portion of tender, juicy BBQ pork, homemade BBQ sauce, home baked beans, North Carolina BBQ slaw and a southern roll.
The charge for BBQ dinner plates will be $12.00. Reservations are not required. Creekside Picnic Tables available for all. Additional donations to benefit the Scouts are always appreciated.
Asheville Music School and The Mule have teamed up for a silent auction fundraiser to benefit Asheville Music School’s scholarship and outreach programs through the Paul Thorpe Music Education Fund. Up for bidding will be luxury regional experiences, vacation getaways, wine tasting events, fine art, pampering packages, restaurant and wellness gift certificates, concert tickets and more. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Patrons can hit the cash bar serving wine, local beer, cocktails, and NA beverages, and dine on regional food by local chefs. The evening will also feature live music showcase performances by AMS students.
The funds we’re raising through this auction are going to help fund the Paul Thorpe Music Education Fund, which provides need-based scholarships for music lessons and instruments, as well as music-based community outreach.
Pumpkin Fest is a fun, family friendly and fantastic artistic event or great date night with 18 beautiful artist-designed lighted carved pumpkin displays on a newly-paved short walking trail. The event includes talented local musicians, food trucks and coffee house, games, storytelling, face painting, white squirrel scavenger hunt, games, dress ups, and the Silvermont historic mansion and second floor museum open for tours.
Admission $7 per person (ages 13 and over), $5 ages 3-12, and 2 and under free. We accept cards, cash or check with ID.
Onsite parking cost is $5 per car (cash preferred). Free parking is available offsite on nearby streets and Comporium and church parking lots 1 block away. Handicap sticker- free parking onsite.

After being cancelled last year due to Helene, our annual fundraiser Walk For Your Neighbor is BACK! Please join us on Sunday, October 26 at First Baptist Church of Swannanoa for a walk and block party! There will be music, as well as food and drink! The walk will start at 2pm, with the block party continuing until 5pm.

Registration is by donation only, but we are encouraging a $20 minimum donation for those who are able. You can also ask family and friends to sponsor your walk using the donation link you receive when you register. To be cost and environmentally conscious, we will be using last year’s t-shirts.
Our valley is still recovering and needs remain high. The more we raise through this walk, the more we can tangibly share the love of Christ with neighbors in need through food, clothing, baby supplies, healthcare, home repairs, and so much more! Roll down to the Asheville Yards on Saturday, Nov. 1st for a day of bicycle fun in support of Asheville on Bikes and the AVL Unpaved project.
3-6pm: Bring the kids and your bikes for AoB’s pop-up bike park and the Maro inflatable obstacle course! Recyclery will be here to teach bike maintenance skills!
6pm: I9 raffle winners announced! We’re raffling off Industry Nine Custom Hydra2 Alloy Wheel Raffle in support of AVL Unpaved.
6:30-7:30pm: Newspaper challenge! Bring your bike and complete our newspaper delivery obstacle challenge.
